Commercial trucks like semi-trucks and tractor-trailers are essential for the operation of the American economy. People involved in semi-truck crashes often sustain more severe injuries than those in a typical collision. After all, trucks are large, powerful vehicles that frequently transport hazardous commodities across the country. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) reports that 5,237 truck accidents in just 2019 resulted in fatalities. Another 119,000 collisions were serious enough to result in injuries.
Texas highways are often filled with huge trucks and commercial vehicles, such as 18-wheelers, and all around the state, deadly collisions involving these rigs are common. Anyone on the road can be severely injured when a semi-truck collides with another vehicle, and these collisions are known to leave victims with deadly or severe injuries.
Tragically, many truck accident victims do not receive the necessary medical care or financial support to fully recover. The trucking business works hard to limit the amount of damages accident victims receive in settlements.
