Semi-truck crashes are a serious concern that impacts thousands of people each year. According to the most recent crash statistics, there are between 400,000 and 500,000 accidents involving semi-trucks each year in the United States. Around 100,000 people are injured, and 4,000 to 4,600 people die as a result of trucking accidents each year. When passenger cars and semi trucks collide, the majority of fatalities and injuries are suffered by the passengers in smaller vehicles.
Truck drivers need to drive with more caution on the road due to the size and weight of their vehicles. Unfortunately, one slip-up can result in an expensive and often tragic crash. In Texas, you could file a lawsuit to recover your damages if you are injured in a semi-truck accident.
You may be able to hold the at-fault party accountable for the trucking accident if the evidence demonstrates that they broke these laws. Our truck accident attorneys can also look into the possibility that other parties caused the incident. For instance, a construction company might be held accountable if the lack of adequate warning signs on their roadwork prevented the truck driver from avoiding the danger in time.
