Then, a 2020 Nissan Rouge driven by 48-year-old Melissa De Leon collided with the Freightliner.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

The people in the passenger car will sustain the most serious injuries in collisions on the road involving commercial trucks and smaller vehicles. Because trucks are heavier than cars, they take longer to stop and slow down. Texas was the site of more than 13% of all truck accidents nationwide. In 2010, there were 2,339 serious injuries and 284 fatalities related to vehicle accidents. There were 15,676 collisions involving just commercial trucks in 2010.
Our Texas semi-truck accident lawyer is aware that 18-wheeler collisions happen often across the country and that the injuries they cause can have a profound impact on victims' lives. In Texas, the average cost of a commercial truck accident is almost $60,000, including medical expenses and missed income. Unfortunately, there is no monetary compensation that will make up for the loss of a loved one in a Texas tractor-trailer accident. Although it's simple to believe that truck accidents are the same as other types of car accidents, this is not the case. All truck collisions, whether involving a semi-trailer, an 18-wheeler, or a tractor-trailer, have the potential to be exceedingly dangerous.
