Mesquite, TX – Two Killed in I-30 Truck Crash near Big Town Blvd

Mesquite, TX (January 17, 2023) – A fatal truck accident was reported in Mesquite on Tuesday morning that claimed the lives of two people. At around 3:37 a.m., on January 17, the police and firefighters in Mesquite were notified that a traffic accident took place on Interstate 30.

According to the Mesquite Police Department, an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck collided on Interstate 30 near Big Town Boulevard. The accident blocked multiple lanes of travel in the area heading toward Loop 12.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and remained on-site for several hours as they worked to clear the road.

One person involved in the crash suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased immediately by responding officers. A second victim was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of severe injuries. However, the Mesquite Police Department confirmed that the victim later succumbed to their injuries.

At this time, the police in Mesquite are investigating the crash.
