Investigators: Trucker Was Speeding Before Dallas Semi Crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that a serious big-rig crash on the Dallas North Tollway on February 23 was caused by a speeding commercial truck. Two people were seriously injured in the Dallas truck accident, and the trucker was charged with failure to control speed.
According to local news sources, the 18-wheeler truck was speeding and lost control near Interstate 635 on Thursday morning. The vehicle crossed three lanes of traffic, pushed an SUV through a barrier, and then flipped over on top of a sedan. The driver of the SUV and the driver of the sedan were injured, while the trucker was not.
The driver of the sedan, 49-year-old Greg Meece of Sugarland, miraculously survived the 18-wheeler crash despite his car being crushed on top of him. He was rushed to Parkland Hospital in Dallas after being extracted from the wreck. He was listed in serious condition and underwent spine surgery to repair his damaged back. While he suffered some nerve damage, he was able to walk out of the hospital just weeks after the crash and injury.
Meece thanked several Good Samaritans that pulled him from the wreckage and stabilized him before emergency responders arrived. The attorneys at Rasansky Law Firm wish both injury victims full and swift recoveries.
