Dallas Police Officer’s Son Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver

The oldest son of a Dallas police officer was struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver in downtown Dallas on Friday morning – a tragic accident that brought his family and the community together in mourning.
According to local Texas news sources, the fatal Dallas car accident took place at the intersection of South Ervay Street and Corinth Street in the early hours of Friday, May 25. Police told local media outlets that 26-year-old Matthew Moore was driving his pickup truck at an estimated 70 miles per hour when he neglected to stop at a red light and slammed into the side of a car carrying 25-year-old Jeremy Price, as well as his friend and her child.
Price was rushed to Parkland Hospital by ambulance in critical condition, but he died of his car accident injuries not long after arrival. The two other occupants in the car were injured and are being treated.
Moore is suspected of drinking and driving. He has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault. It is not clear whether he has a record of criminal activity or traffic violations. Just hours after the fatal crash, dozens of friends and family of Jeremy Price gathered at Poteet High School, where Price was remembered as a talented athlete and loving friend. Price had recently graduated with a business management degree and was working towards a bachelor’s degree at the time of his death.
