Another Wrong-Way Crash on Dallas North Tollway

The Dallas North Tollway was the site of another wrong way crash, this one involving two drivers.

According to reports, both of the drivers were on their way to being charged with driving while intoxicated following the crash. One will be charged with driving while intoxicated while the driver who caused the wreck will face charges of intoxication assault.

One of the drivers, the 25-year-old male, was going north in the southbound lane, according to reports. He ended up being involved in a head-on collision with a driver headed in the correct direction.
The car wreck ended up shutting down the Dallas North Tollway for over an hour. According to the report, the wrong way driver apparently entered the roadway headed in the wrong direction, despite the fact that there is signage warning drivers to turn around if they are in the process of making this mistake. The Dallas North Tollway Authority, according to the reporting, is looking into ways to alleviate this problem, which has contributed to accidents more than once over the year.

Head-on collisions.

Because of the way the physics involved work, head-on collisions are some of the most dangerous of all car accidents. In a head-on collision, both vehicles take the full brunt of the forces involved. If both cars are going 60 miles per hour and hit head-on, it's as if both cars hit a brick wall at 60 mph. This, of course, is certainly enough to cause a serious injury or death.
Drivers going the wrong way on one-way streets – particularly drunk drivers – are common and extremely dangerous threats. Because of the tremendous forces involved in these impacts and the fact that the driver is likely to be cruising along at the speed limit because they believe they are in the correct lane, these accidents have great potential to wind up being deadly.
Dallas car accident attorney can help you if you were hit by a negligent driver. Driving the wrong way on a one-way is, in most circumstances, certainly something that could be construed as negligence. Even if the driver who struck you was charged with a crime, you can still go after them for compensation in a court of law. Meeting with an attorney and discussing your situation with them will give them an opportunity to determine whether or not they believe they can successfully represent you in such a lawsuit.
