Fleeing Suspects Crash into Dentist's Office

Two carjacking suspects fleeing pursuit by the police crashed into a dentist’s office.

The suspected carjackers managed to run away from the scene, but were quickly apprehended by police at a nearby apartment complex, according to NBCDFW.
The victim of the alleged carjacking had been beaten physically before the suspects allegedly stole his car. The victim was with police officers during the incident, and the police officers could not engage in pursuit of the suspects with the victim in the car.
The suspects were 16 and 20 years old and have been taken to jail over the incident.
Some of the property damage that occurs during car accidents doesn’t have anything to do with another vehicle. In fact, even though this case involved a police pursuit, there are plenty of instances every year when a driver crashes into a house or another fixed structure. This sort of an incident can result in significant property damage.

When can you sue?

Every situation is different, and the best way to find out whether you should file a lawsuit or not is to seek out a free consultation with a car accident attorney.
Lawsuits are generally filed over negligence. Because negligence can mean not taking reasonable care, it is likely that somebody who crashed into a building under such circumstances would be liable, and subject to a potential lawsuit. After all, the property owner did nothing to bring that accident upon themselves.
Talking to an attorney under these circumstances is generally the best move that somebody who was injured or had their property destroyed can take. Until you speak with an attorney, you can’t really be sure whether or not you stand a good chance at winning. If you do have good cause to file a lawsuit, there are time limitations on how long you have to do so, so it’s imperative that you act as quickly as possible.
