Abilene Christian University Bus Crash Kills One Student, Injures 15

One student was killed and four other passengers were critically injured after an Abilene Christian University bus accident.
According to national news sources, a dozen students as well as three facility members and one faculty spouse were driving to Medina to complete a service project at a children's home. However, the Texas Department of Safety reported that the bus driver, faculty member Michael Nicodemus, lost control of the bus on Highway 83 about fifty miles outside of Abilene while negotiating a curve in the road.
The bus rolled once, ejecting several passengers before coming to a stop. One student, 19-year-old Anabel Reid, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while 18-year-old Allison Dorshorst, 19-year-old Merissa Ford, and 19-year-old Naomi Cruz were all seriously injured. Everyone involved in the accident required medical care after the accident and ambulances rushed the passengers to four different area hospitals.
Just 9 years ago, another crash involving Abilene Christian University students left five people dead after a student driver fell asleep at the wheel of a passenger van.
Students, faculty, family, and community members gathered at the school on Friday for a prayer vigil. OurTexas bus accident attorneys and everyone who works at Rasansky Law Firm has Abilene Christian University in our thoughts this week.
