Longview, TX – Lesley Paul Clanton Killed in Crash on US-259

Longview, TX (May 24, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Saturday claimed one victim’s life.

At around 4:14 a.m., on May 23, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 259.

Reports show that 48-year-old Lesley Paul Clanton was traveling north along the highway in a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 when his vehicle struck a guardrail. Clanton pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle to inspect it for damages. As Clanton stood next to his vehicle, he was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Clanton suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
