Texarkana, TX – Janet Bedford Killed in Lake Drive (TX-93) Collision

Texarkana, TX (February 24, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident on Saturday sadly claimed one victim’s life and left a second inured.

At around 1:40 p.m., on February 22, authorities were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision in the 1100 block of South Lake Drive. Reports from the Texarkana Police Department indicate that 29-year-old Dewayne Fetner was traveling south along South Lake Drive in a Subaru Tribeca when his vehicle collided with a GMC Acadia, which was driven by 42-year-old Kaleb Harp.

A passenger in the back seat of Harp’s vehicle, who was identified as 70-year-old Janet Bedford, suffered fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

Both Harp and Fetner were transported to area hospitals for treatment via LifeNet EMS.

Fetner was subsequently arrested and charged with both intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter.

At this time, police are investigating.
