The deadly accident was reported on Interstate 10 near mile marker 876 at around 1:40 a.m. Local sources indicated that a Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling westbound when it hit a pedestrian who was traveling along the roadway. The 27-year-old man operating the rig was not hurt in the accident. 

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased party has not been revealed at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in the hands of local authorities, and more information will be provided as it progresses.
