A woman and five children were involved in a fatal Fort Worth car accident last week – an accident that left the driver and two children dead and three others seriously injured.
Texas Police say that the Dallas area car accident took place on the northbound service road of I-35W near the I-20 exchange in Fort Worth. The driver apparently left the road, crossed the median, and slammed into a concrete structure where it burst into flames. The woman and two of the children were pronounced dead at the scene of the Texas accident while a third child was pulled from the flaming wreckage and airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. The two other children were taken by ambulance to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
It is unclear why the accident took place, though the late time of the accident – 1:30 AM on Sunday – could mean that driver fatigue was a factor. No names have been released.
