According to Dallas news sources, a Dodge Caravan carrying a couple and three children was stopped at an intersection and waiting to turn when an approaching car struck the broadside of the van. The car accident took place at the intersection of Pemberton Hill Road and Loop 12 at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
One of the children in the van, an eight-year-old boy, was killed in the vehicle accident when a car jack struck him in the head during the impact. His younger seven-year-old brother, his two-year-old brother, and his mother were also injured in the van crash. Dallas police say that the two older boys were sitting in the cargo area of the van without proper restraints while the two-year-old boy was sitting in his mother’s lap at the time of the collision.
The driver of the car that struck the van was questioned at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. No charges have been filed, and the accident is still under investigation. Drugs or alcohol do not seem to be factors in the crash.
