LAMPASAS, TX (05/13/2015) — Sgt. Anthony Riddle, 29, was killed on Wednesday evening after being involved in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 281.

According to police, 29-year-old Sgt. Anthony Riddle, a Corrections Officer with the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, was killed in a head-collision on Wednesday evening at around 5:15 p.m. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 281, about five miles south of Lampasas, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety reports indicate that Riddle was traveling southbound on his way to work when the driver of a northbound pickup truck (driven by 27-year-old Brandon James King) rear-ended a northbound 1996 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 65-year-old Paul Kenneth Fusselman, of Burnet. King’s truck then reportedly skidded across the center line into southbound lanes and struck Riddle’s 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix head-on. King’s pickup truck also collided with a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by 53-year-old Amanda Jane Robson, of Burnet.
Riddle, a father of two, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He had been with the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office since 2011. Funeral services are pending at this time. The investigation into the cause of this incident is ongoing.
