BELLMEAD, TX (05/07/2014) — Rodney Hickman and Nuridin Pardaxev were injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving three 18-wheelers on Wednesday night.
The accident happened at around 10:20 p.m. when, according to reports, traffic on northbound I-35 (near the 340 loop) in Bellmead was slowing for construction. It’s reported that 26 year-old Nuridin Pardaxev, from Louisiana, failed properly brake his Mid-A Transportation truck and slammed into the back of a second 18-wheeler. That collision pushed the 2nd truck into the rear of a 3rd truck and started a diesel fire.
The driver of the 2nd (Western Flyer Express) truck, 65 year-old Rodney Dewayne Hickman of Killeen, was transported by air ambulance to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for burns to his legs and feet. Mr. Hickman remained in critical condition Thursday. Nuridin Pardaxev was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, and was in stable condition as of Thursday night.
