Just after 7 a.m., on September 3, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an accident on Farm to Market Road 920.
Reports show that 31-year-old Michael Howerton was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra north on Farm to Market Road 920 when his vehicle collided with a 2008 Volkswagen passenger car. Howerton was fatally injured in the accident and declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen, who was identified as 41-year-old Trissy Shaw, was seriously injured in the crash. She was rushed from the scene of the accident to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
