Owner’s Teenaged Son Implicated In Texas Daycare Abuse Case

The Placer County Sheriff’s Department announced that a 14-year-old boy has been arrested for suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with children at the Colored Pencils daycare center in Auburn owned by his mother.
According to authorities the teen, who will remain unnamed and unidentified because he is a minor, is accused of sexually molesting at least four children between the ages of three years and five years. The case is still under investigation and officials are unsure of details or if more children at the daycare center were sexually abused.
On the same day of the arrest, the Texas State Department of Social Services closed the daycare center because of the sexual abuse allegations.
The Texas home daycare center has been cited for a number of violations since it opened its doors seven years ago in 2005. The violations included a lack of child supervision and improper sleeping areas.
When choosing a daycare, it is vital to understand who will be present during your child’s stay. While the daycare’s employees will often have background checks, you should know that home daycares will often have other people, such as owner’s family members or significant others, present in the house during the hours of operation. A number of daycare sexual abuse cases arise when these relatives make inappropriate contact with the children.
The daycare abuse attorneys at the Rasansky | McKenzie Law send their best wishes for healing and recovery for the children and families affected by this alleged abuse.
