Odessa, TX (February 12, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that 33-year-old Felipe Oviedo-Castillo was fatally injured in a truck accident involving multiple vehicles that occurred on Wednesday.
On February 8, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an automobile accident on Loop 338.
Reports provided by DPS indicate that a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling in the area of Loop 338 and 8th Street when the vehicle became involved in a collision with a semi-truck. The Dodge then collided with a Freightliner, which was towing a trailer.
The impact of the collision caused a passenger in the pickup truck, identified as Oviedo-Castillo, to be ejected from the vehicle. He was then struck by a Ford Escape on the northbound side of the roadway.
Oviedo-Castillo was fatally injured as a result of the accident.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to Medical Center Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating.
