Lake Somerville, TX – Four Killed, Including Child, in LBJ Dr Collision

Lake Somerville, TX (May 11, 2020) – At around 11 p.m., on May 9, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on LBJ Drive.

Reports show that 37-year-old Ignacio Aviles was traveling south along LBJ Drive when his vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle on the roadway. Aviles was critically injured in the collision and transported to CHI St. Joseph Health for treatment.

The four occupants in the second vehicle, who were identified as 18-year-old Jasmine Maxwell, 18-year-old Chase Sowders, 37-year-old Justin Richard, and a 6-year-old child, were all killed instantly in the crash.

At this time, DPS is investigating.
