MCKINNEY, TX — A Monday evening (06/30/2014) car accident caused by a stop sign runner has claimed the life of 24-year-old James Weller.
According to reports, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of South Lake Forest Drive and Stone Gate Trail in McKinney at around 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 30th.
James Weller was riding a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Lake Forest Drive when 43-year-old Joseph Uhr pulled into the intersection from Stone Gate Trail. According to police officials, Uhr failed to obey a stop sign and yield the right-of-way. As a result, James Weller collided with Uhr’s 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe and was killed on impact.
Uhr was not injured and stopped at the scene. No charges are believed to have been filed as of yet, but an investigation is continuing.
