Fatal Car AccidentThe accident occurred on FM 27 in rural Freestone County at about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday night (about four miles west of Fairfield). 21-year-old Ian Spence (of Mexia, Texas) and 20-year-old Megan Cook (of Fairfield, Texas) were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

KWTX is reporting that the Jeep Grand Cherokee veered into the westbound lane after the driver over-corrected, causing the collision. KXXV reports that it was Spence's Impala that veered into the eastbound lanes after overcorrecting.
Ian Spence and Megan Cook were pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver and passenger in the Jeep were transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
According to officials, road conditions did not appear to be a factor as the pavement was dry at the time of the accident.
