Reports provided by the police show that a boat was involved in a crash near one of the Edward Island on Cedar Creek Lake. The impact of the collision caused one of the riders on the boat to be ejected. The second victim remained onboard. When emergency crews arrived, they located both injured victims in an area with 2-feet of water near the island. EMS units from UT Health and Careflite responded to the scene. Both victims sustained serious injuries. One victim was transported to UT Health Cedar Creek and the second victim was airlifted from the crash to UT Health East Texas via UT Health Helicopter Air One.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
