Erath County, TX – Kenneth Pierson Killed in US-377 Crash, 2 Injured

Erath County, TX (February 2, 2020) – A major motor vehicle accident on Saturday claimed one person’s life and left two others seriously injured.

On February 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Erath County. Reports from DPS Sgt. Rick Hunter indicated that 26-year-old Kenneth Pierson was traveling down US Highway 377 in a 2007 Chrysler 300 when his vehicle collided head-on with a 2016 Dodge Journey near the intersection with Timber Creek Road.

The impact of the collision caused the Dodge to leave the roadway and roll up onto its top. The Chrysler burst into flames.

Pierson was immediately killed in the collision.

A driver and passenger inside the dodge were both injured. The driver, who was identified as 55-year-olf Rafaela Rodriguez, was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. The Dodge passenger, 50-year-old Rosa Portillo, was transported via EMS to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville.
