Reports provided by authorities show that a pedestrian was walking on US Highway 80 near the intersection with Farm to Market Road 2278 when they were struck by a Dodge Ram 4500 pickup truck, which was traveling east along the highway. The pedestrian, who was identified as an adult female, was fatally injured in the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident and declared the victim deceased. At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the collision are ongoing with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
