Daughter Files Texas City Nursing Home Neglect Lawsuit

The daughter of a former nursing home resident at Seabreeze Nursing & Rehabilitation has filed a Texas nursing home neglect lawsuit regarding the death of her father at the adult care facility two years ago.
According to the Southeast Texas Record, Willie Gamble died from malnourishment and bedsores in October of 2009 after spending the last seven years at the Texas City nursing home. The nursing home neglect lawsuit claims that the medical professionals in charge of Gamble’s care, Dr. Folasade Mofolu Ojo, Cabrenna Lee, and Tonya L. Green, as well as the nursing home itself, did not properly diagnose, treat, or care for the man – actions that are directly connected with his death.
In the lawsuit, Elaine Carrier, Gamble’s daughter, alleges that she informed the nursing home staff of her father’s health issues, but they did not take the appropriate steps toward treatment and recovery.
The nursing home neglect suit was filed in Galveston County District Court last week by Elaine Carrier. It will be tried by Judge David Garner. Carrier is seeking an unspecified amount due to her father’s pain and suffering before his death.
