Dallas, TX – Canessia Griffin Killed in Pedestrian Accident on I-35 E

Dallas, TX (August 31, 2020) – An auto accident reported early Sunday morning claimed one woman’s life in the Dallas area. At approximately 3:30 a.m., on August 30, the Dallas Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 35 East.

Investigations surrounding the accident show that 28-year-old Canessia Griffin was standing outside of her car with a group of family members after one of their vehicles broke down on Interstate 35 East.

While standing along the side of the road, 27-year-old Asianna Fluellen crashed into the group with her vehicle as well as multiple vehicles parked in the grassy median.

Griffin was critically injured in the collision. She was transported to a local hospital where she was declared deceased. Two other pedestrians were seriously injured in the crash and rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
