Dallas Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Airport Freeway In Irving

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, a Dallas man was struck and killed while attempting to cross Airport Freeway in Irving, Texas late on Friday night.
The man, 36-year-old Chad Allbritton, ran in front of a car in the westbound lane of the highway while trying to cross the street near the old Texas Stadium. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene of the pedestrian accident.
Irving Police say that the driver, who immediately pulled over and called for help, was not at fault for the fatal pedestrian accident and that no charges will be filed and no citations will be given. Police are still unsure of why Allbritton was trying to cross the busy street or if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
Because of the high speed of the vehicles, it is extremely dangerous to cross a multi-lane highway, especially at night.
