Cerebral Palsy Support Groups for Parents: Online Resources

This week on our website we have been talking about the parents, guardians, and caregivers of children with cerebral palsy – and the support and care that they need so that they can give the best support and care possible to their children. In this blog post, we’ll look at three different websites and organizations that offer support specifically for those who care for and care about children with cerebral palsy:

  • CPParent. This is a subscription-based email list for the parents, guardians, and caregivers of children with cerebral palsy. The list discusses children’s accomplishments, defeats, educations, medical struggles, challenges, and medical equipment.
  • KidPower. This group is geared toward the parents and caregivers of children with milder forms of cerebral palsy as well as their doctors, educators, and therapists. There are also several adults with mild disabilities who participate.
  • United Cerebral Palsy. This non-profit organization is a huge community of cerebral palsy parents, advocates, and educators that has been around since 1949. It has a number of programs and initiatives that are geared toward parents and caregivers.
