At around 2:30 p.m., on April 15, authorities were called to the scene of a drowning incident at the lake near the Event Center. Reports show that a 3-year-old child fell into the water at the Event Centre located on Crockett Street.
The child’s mother went into the water and attempted to rescue her. Unfortunately, the young child suffered fatal injuries in the incident and was unable to be revived.
The mother was rescued but remains hospitalized in critical condition.
At this time, police are investigating.
