Austin, TX – One Killed in Pedestrian Crash on S Lamar Blvd (TX-343 Loop)

Austin, TX (August 24, 2020) – A car crash reported in the Austin area on Sunday claimed one victim’s life and left a second victim seriously injured. Just before 4 p.m., on August 23, the Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the scene of a crash on South Lamar Boulevard.

According to reports, a driver was traveling through the 4300 block of South Lamar Boulevard when they lost control of their vehicle. As a result, the car went off the road and struck a pedestrian before crashing into a light pole. The driver became pinned inside their vehicle but was later extracted by firefighters. The driver of the vehicle was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The pedestrian involved in the crash was fatally injured and declared deceased at the scene. A third patient sustained injuries but refused to be transported to an area hospital for treatment. At this time, the police in Austin are investigating the cause of the crash.
