At around 4:10 p.m., on February 3, the Amarillo Police Department was called to a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 27. Reports state that 24-year-old Rolando Martinez was traveling along the northbound side of the interstate when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Camry between South Georgia Street and Southwest 45th Avenue.
Martinez, as well as the second driver, were both seriously injured and rushed to area hospitals for treatment.
Sadly, Martinez succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is currently investigating.
