Reports from the APD show that a 2008 Mazda 3 was traveling north on Wolflin Avenue when the vehicle was struck by a 2016 Hyundai Elantra at the intersection with South Washington Street. The impact of the collision caused a passenger inside the Mazda to be ejected.
The victim, who was identified as 35-year-old Rhonda Stephenson, sustained critical injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital where she passed away from her injuries. A 19-year-old female inside the Mazda and the 41-year-old female driver of the Hyundai were both transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
