Alvarado, TX – One Killed & One Injured in Industrial Accident on US-67

Alvarado, TX (July 18, 2020) – A workplace accident reported in the Alvarado area claimed one man’s life and left a second victim seriously injured. At approximately 10 p.m., on July 17, the Alvarado Fire and Police Departments responded to the site of an industrial accident, alongside the Johnson County EMS, at the Sabre Industry plant located in the 8600 block of US Highway 67.

Reports show that two workers were performing duties of their job at the plant when a 3-ton pole rolled on top of them. Both victims were critically injured in the incident. Both workers were airlifted from the scene of the incident to hospitals in Fort Worth. One of the victims succumbed to their injuries after arriving. The second victim remains hospitalized at this time. Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
