Three Killed in Irving Canal Car Accident – Questions Remain

On Wednesday afternoon, a DART maintenance worker reported a car submerged in a canal along the Northwest Highway and Riverside drive. Later that day, emergency responders recovered the bodies of three people: 41-year-old Dallas attorney Ron Eddins, 23-year-old Kenny Lark, and 21-year-old Kaat Debeuckelaer, a University of Texas student.
A medical examination revealed that all three had been the victims of blunt force trauma and that Eddins had drowned.
Irving police are still piecing together the details of what seems to be a fatal Texas car accident. Investigators say that the young couple attended a Dallas Stars game on Tuesday before traveling to Southlake where they met Eddins. The three then made a brief stop at the Men’s Club in Dallas before leaving in Eddins’ Porsche. At just before three in the morning, a resident of the area where the accident took place reported a loud crash to police.
The investigation continues as police work to discover whether speed or intoxication were factors in the late-night crash. Toxicology results have not yet been reported.
The Texas wrongful death lawyers at Rasansky | McKenzie Law send their condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the three accident victims.
