Local reports revealed that a 2019 Nissan Sentra was headed eastbound in the outside lane near a 2019 Ford Coachman that was in the inside lane. At the same time, a 2017 Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling westbound. The Nissan swerved and hit the Coachman, causing the Ford to cross the center median, through a cable barrier, and into westbound traffic. The Coachman crashed into the oncoming pickup truck. 

The Nissan continued into the median after hitting the coachman where it overturned. One of the drivers, 25-year-old Victor Craven Jr. of Waco, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the pickup, 51-year-old Pedro Alvarez Ramirez of Midland, was also killed on impact. Another passenger in the F-250, 54-year-old Julio Lopez Leal of Mission, was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  

19-year-old Maliyah Garcia of Big Spring and her passenger, 19-year-old Kevin Leyva, were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup, 34-year-old Miguel Chel-Sanchez of Tenaha, was also hospitalized. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is underway.

Stanton, TX (March 28, 2024) – Three people were killed and three others hurt in the aftermath of a pileup collision in the Stanton area on Tuesday, March 26. The collision was reported on Interstate 20 near mile marker 151 late that night at around 7:26 p.m. Local sources indicated that three vehicles were involved in the accident.
