At around 2:30 a.m., on February 1, the San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene of a fatal collision on US Highway 281. A male pedestrian was walking along the shoulder of the highway when he was struck by a pickup truck near St. Mary’s Street.
After striking the pedestrian, the driver of the truck lost control and crashed into another vehicle and a guardrail. The driver got out of the vehicle and fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian was fatally injured in the collision and declared deceased at the scene. He was later identified as 23-year-old Alberto Flores.
