Johnson County, TX – Fatal Accident Reported on Park Rd 21

On March 15, at around 6:20 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 287. Reports indicate that 34-year-old Arika Smith was traveling south along the roadway when her vehicle was struck head-on by a northbound vehicle, which was driven by 55-year-old Diane Wagner.

The impact of the collision sent Smith’s vehicle into a semi-truck.

Both Smith and Wagner suffered fatal injuries in the collision and were declared deceased at the scene.

A passenger inside Wagner’s vehicle, who was identified as 57-year-old Gregory Wagner, was airlifted to Northwest Texas Hospital for treatment.

At this time, police in Sherman County are investigating.

On March 15, at around 6:20 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 287.
