As a result of criminally negligent conduct by another driver (for which the defendant driver was charged with driving under the influence), the 20-year-old son of loving parents was struck head-on at approximately 50 MPH and had his vehicle forced backwards more than 100 feet. The collision resulted in devastating and life-threatening injuries that resulted in multiple broken bones and forced the young man to remain unconscious in ICU for weeks.
