The deadly accident occurred on Interstate 10 near mile marker 877 in Orange County early that morning at around 2:30 a.m. It was reported that a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling east when it struck a concrete barrier on the interstate. The truck overturned and came to a rest in the travel lane. 

It was then that an eastbound Freightliner truck semi-trailer hit the vehicle. The 47-year-old Orange man driving the Ford suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 50-year-old Humble man driving the rig was not hurt in the collision. No further information has been provided at this time. 

Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
