Reports from authorities show that 26-year-old Michael Maraist was traveling south on Interstate 35 in a Ford Focus when his vehicle collided with a Ford Transit 350 van. Maraist sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was immediately declared deceased at the scene.
Inside the Ford, a family consisting of two adults and four children were injured. All six victims were transported to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels for treatment. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
