Irving Drunk Driver Charged With Manslaughter After Car Accident

Speed and alcohol were both factors in a fatal Irving, Texas, car accident – an accident that has resulted in intoxicated manslaughter charges for the driver of a pickup truck.
According to the Star-Telegram, 29-year-old Justin Jones was driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding on Texas 114 in Irving when he lost control of his vehicle. The man crossed three lanes of traffic before hitting an obstruction and going airborne. His vehicle then struck a FedEx truck also on Texas 114, killing the driver, 27-year-old Khaled Aboushaaban. Jones’ car hit the eastbound FedEx truck head-on and at cab level and Aboushaaban was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Jones was charged with manslaughter while recovering from serious injuries at Dallas’ Parkland Memorial Hospital. The vehicle accident took place on Monday, July 12 at around 7 PM.
