Reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a Peterbilt truck tractor-trailer was heading west, southwest on Farm to Market Road 1015. At the same time, a white Chevrolet Silverado was heading east, northeast on the same road.
As the vehicles approached the curved area of East Montecristo Road, they collided.
Three passengers in the pickup truck were fatally injured. Authorities identified the victims as 26-year-old Elias Galaves, 42-year-old Gerardo Ibarra, and 22-year-old Axel Gimenez.
The driver of the Peterbilt was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
The Texas Department of Transportation notified area officials that Farm to Market Road 1015, between Montecristo Road and Mile Three Road West, was closed.
Investigations into the accident are currently underway.
