The deadly crash took place on TX-310 near Great Trinity Forest Way at around 3 a.m. Two people were reportedly driving in a car when it crashed into an 18-wheeler on the highway. Both occupants suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
The truck driver was hurt and transported to a local hospital in serious condition. The area was closed for several hours while emergency responders were present.
It is unknown if the driver was traveling in the wrong direction at the time of the crash. No further information has been provided at this time.
