At around 11 p.m., on April 17, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 30.
Reports from police indicate that 54-year-old Carolina Hernandez and 28-year-old Monica Gallegos were traveling along Interstate 30 when they began experiencing some mechanical issues on their vehicle. As they attempted to reverse their PT Cruiser into the right lane of traffic, their vehicle was struck by a Ford F-150.
Both women had to be extricated from the vehicle. The two women were rushed to local hospitals where they later succumbed to their injuries.
A 5-year-old female child inside the car was also injured and transported to Children’s Hospital in Dallas.
At this time, police are investigating.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
We would like to offer our condolences to the families of both Carolina Hernandez and Monica Gallegos at this time.
