According to the Dallas News, Officer Samantha Matje was driving down the freeway westbound when an unknown vehicle sideswiped her police cruiser and then immediately left the scene of the car accident. After being struck by the hit-and-run vehicle, the police cruiser than slid into a third vehicle.
Emergency responders to the Texas car accident rushed Matje to Dallas’ Baylor Medical Center where she is recovering from her serious injuries.
Texas police do not have a description of the car that struck the officer or the person driving, but tell the media that the involved vehicle most likely has significant front-end damage.
