The fatal crash occurred on US-281 near County Road 116 when a 72-year-old woman driving a GMC Terrain collided with a semi-trailer. Two children riding in the rear seat of the vehicle were ejected, and a 10-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital in Corpus Christi, where she was later pronounced dead.
The front seat passenger of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in Alice in serious condition. No additional information has been provided at this time.
Local authorities are handling the ongoing accident investigation.
