Reports show that 36-year-old Carlos Javier Venegas was traveling west on the highway in a white GMC Sierra pickup truck when a collision occurred with a gray semi-truck after it reversed onto a grassy portion of the highway.
Venegas sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
Four female passengers inside the pickup were injured. All four victims were transported to Valley Baptist Hospital for treatment. At this time, DPS is investigating.
