Broytman exited the vehicle to work on the engine. Then, he was hit by an oncoming Freightliner 18-wheeler operated by Lewis Edward Clements Jr. of New Market, Virginia. The truck reportedly swerved out of the lane to avoid hitting the truck, but it ultimately struck Broytman. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was instantly killed in the impact. 

No other injuries were reported in the collision. Local law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident. As the investigation progresses, more information will be released.

Baird, TX (January 29, 2024) – Early on Sunday morning, January 28, a Frisco man was killed while standing next to a commercial rig in the Baird area. The deadly accident was reported on Interstate 20 at around 11:10 a.m. Local reports revealed that 43-year-old Yan Broytman of Frisco had parked a 2017 Freightliner big rig on the side of the highway due to mechanical problems.
