The vehicle entered a ditch, where it hit a tree on the passenger side. Emergency crews were present to render aid to the involved parties. The passenger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of sustained injuries. The deceased party and driver were later identified as 80-year-old Isabella Cross and 81-year-old Robert Cross, both from Universal City.
